What is GAINS®?
GAINS® is a virtual assistant for providers of Applied Behavior Analysis. It is designed to improve the quality and decrease the cost of providing instruction to individuals with autism. GAINS® replaces the binder, taking care of routine work and allowing staff to focus on the client. GAINS® supports Intensive (DTT and VB) & Incidental Teaching (includes GAINS® Life Skill Building™)
How is GAINS® different from computer-based record-keeping programs?
Unlike computerized data collection and reporting systems, GAINS® provides decision support for ABA instructors through each step in the ABA therapy process. Apps are great for tracking how much you spend or chatting with your friends. But a complex human interaction like Applied Behavior Analysis therapy doesn’t fit into an app. Every child learns at his or her own pace, in his or her own way, because every child is different.
GAINS® doesn’t just record standardized data; it reflects the variables that make each student unique and assists teachers in providing the right lesson. GAINS® supports teachers, so they can help children lead more social and productive lives.
Does GAINS® replace clinicians and staff?
No. GAINS® does not replace clinicians and staff. GAINS® takes care of routine work and allows them to focus on the client.
What are the components of GAINS®?
GAINS® consist of three components:
- Algorithms and database housed in a secure, HIPAA-compliant server the cloud
- A supervisor portal which allows clinicians to manage staff, create student curricula, track student progress, and generate reports
- An instructor interface which supports an instructor during ABA therapy and automatically records granular data via a smart phone or tablet and bone-conduction Bluetooth headphones
